It is with great pleasure that we are welcoming our new chiropractor Pru to the team at Hands On Health Care Clinic
Prudence graduated from Macquarie University in 2005 with a Masters of Chiropractic and was awarded the prestigious Chiropractic Student of the Year award. She has completed postgraduate study in Paediatrics and Pregnancy, Musculoskeletal Acupuncture, Functional Movement Assessment, Rocktape and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) Rehabilitation.
Pru believes in maintaining optimal health through a balance of chiropractic care, exercise and nutrition. She also has a passion for family health and wellbeing.
Pru has a special interest in pregnancy and birth since having her own children. She is a qualified Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and Childbirth Educator (HPCE), where she runs classes to help expectant couples have a more positive and calm birth experience.
In her spare time, Pru enjoys being a mum to 2 beautiful children, completing half marathons, cooking healthy and nutritious food, reading and travelling.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Pru, she is a wonderful chiropractor and we have a very similar style of treatment. I hope everyone will be very happy with Pru, Damian and myself managing their spinal care.” Georgie explains “After a few health scares in the last week, it has become apparent I need help in the clinic. I would like to thank all of you for your patience with me whilst I have been unable to answer phone or treat you. I appreciate your loyalty to our business. Pru will be helping us continue to provide the high level of care we strive for. We hope you all continue to recommend Damian, Pru, Kat and myself to your family and friends. We greatly appreciate these recommendations. They are the highest compliment we can receive. I will still be working in the clinic just on slightly reduced hours.”
In October we are expecting a tiny new team member at Hands On Health Care Clinic. Georgie is currently 5 months pregnant with her first child and is super excited about the new love and challenge bub will bring.
Whilst still enjoying working in and running the clinic, Georgie is becoming aware that it might some be time to slow down a bit and enjoy being pregnant. “My intention is to work as a chiropractor for as long as my body and baby will allow me to” says Georgie. “I really enjoy my work and helping the clients feel better. The clinic is like my extended family and I am so pleased at everyone’s excitement about bub.” If Georgie is having a chiropractic free afternoon you will still find her on reception and answering your phone calls. She still intends to be present in the clinic pre and post the baby’s birth. “As the months are passing by, I am becoming more aware of my own limitations in giving the chiropractic treatments. The last thing I want is our standard of care to drop. Pru and Damain are going to be helping me keep up this standard. Allowing me to work part-time”
This is one of the biggest questions being asked at the moment. How long will she be out of the clinic for? With the intention to work up to as close to the babies birth as possible. Post-birth, she will be back in to run the business as soon as possible. There really isn’t any maternity leave for small business owners and day to day jobs still need to be done. So Georgie and bub will be in and about the clinic from the very beginning of their new life together. Treating patients will just depend on the recovery of her body and she hopes to be back as soon as possible.
